The Navigators Adaptive Swim Team offers a welcoming and competitive swimming program for athletes with physical disabilities who want to improve their skills, build strength, and be part of a supportive team community. Our adaptive swim program provides professional coaching, structured practices, and opportunities to compete in regional and national adaptive swimming competitions.
Adaptive swimming is a powerful sport that builds confidence, endurance, and independence. Athletes are classified based on the physical limitations of their disabilities, which allows swimmers with different disabilities—such as amputations and cerebral palsy—to compete fairly in the same races. This unique system highlights the determination, resilience, and athletic ability of every swimmer.
Whether an athlete is new to adaptive sports or an experienced swimmer, the Navigators provide a positive environment where everyone has the opportunity to grow, compete, and succeed.

The Navigators have built a strong reputation in the adaptive sports community through years of dedication and competitive success. The program is led by Coach Norm Swenson, who has guided swimmers to achievements at regional and national adaptive swim competitions for more than a decade. Coach Norm has helped develop many high-level athletes while creating a program where swimmers of all experience levels can learn, improve, and reach their full potential.
The Navigators Adaptive Swim Team welcomes athletes who:
